• Saint-Saëns: Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah

The soloist for this concert is talented 21-year-old Wellington violinist Claudia Tarrant-Matthews.  In 2018 Claudia was the concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra and also won first place at the New Zealand School of Music Concerto Competition.  

Apart from Beethoven's memorable only Violin Concerto, the concert includes energetic pieces by Saint-Saëns and Gluck's lovely Minuet and Dance of the Blessed Spirits featuring  flutes from HVO.
